STFC Transfer Line Repairs

On a semi-regular basis, the STFC bring their damaged transfer lines to ICE for repair. Most recently they delivered a total of ten lines to us. The repairs required on these were a mixture of internal leaks, external leaks, bent legs and broken elbow welds. The lines had their leaks pinpointed and fixed, the damaged legs were replaced and broken welds were re-done.

Once the repairs had been made, the lines were pumped and baked to check that the repairs were successful and all passed. The whole process, from receiving the ten transfer lines to finishing the testing and having them ready for collection, took less than two weeks.
