Standard Sample Rod
The ICE Standard Sample Rod is an easily customisable insert to use in liquid helium cryostats or storage Dewars. It provides a basic experimental platform with the sample in exchange gas or directly in liquid He4. ICE offer a wide range of DC, coax or fibre optic wiring for these inserts, as well as a choice rotators and sample space diameters so that the insert can be customised to suit your existing set-up.
The top loading probe attaches to the insert via a simple to use flange. From there a sample rod hangs down inside the sample space of the insert. The sample rod is fitted with radiation baffles to minimise the conductive and radiated heat loads to the sample region. The baffles are spaced to allow for sample access from room temperature to the cold region.
At the top of the sample rod is a housing that is used to supply access to the sample region from room temperature.
(There are many options of housing available and they can be tailored to meet the customer needs)
