Long carbon nanotubes reveal subtleties of quantum mechanics
Physics Today recently spoke with Vikram Deshpande, Assistant Professor at the University of Utah, about his research into the behaviour of electrons in long carbon nanotubes.
His work focuses on electron transport in low-dimensional systems, enabling the observation of subtle quantum effects that provide deeper insight into the electronic structure of carbon nanotubes. These findings contribute to more precise characterisation techniques, supporting ongoing advances in nanoscale electronics and quantum device research.
